Today, if the development of a metropolitan city like Naples depends largely on the ability to rethink and reinvent the use of space, Bowl Napoli can truly be seen as an active force in urban renewal aimed at revitalising the local area.
In fact, the part of the city between Corso Umberto and Via Salvatore de Renzi might never have become the beautiful, green and pedestrian-friendly area it is today (the area has been closed to traffic since 15/07/2020) without the positive example of those who chose to invest in what, less than a year earlier, had been a neglected and unattractive space, abandoned to itself.
One of the achievements of this small healthy food store in the centre of Naples, beyond offering its customers fresh, genuine and delicious meals, has been placing care for the local area among its strategic priorities. Over the past year, together with other local businesses, Bowl Napoli — through its presence on Via Salvatore de Renzi — has played a leading role in a successful urban transformation project. This has triggered a meaningful virtuous circle, improving the quality of life for both residents and the people who spend time in the area.
The addition of plants and colour to the urban landscape, improved cleanliness, and the attention given to decorations and enhancements in a fully “green” style, in keeping with Bowl Napoli’s values, are the result of the synergy between this healthy food business, other small entrepreneurs who believed in the potential of the area, and the institutions whose decision to pedestrianise the district was welcomed by many with enthusiasm and approval.
In this sense, Bowl Napoli — already a great commercial success — can also count among its achievements something even more meaningful: having helped give the city back a space of wellbeing for everyday life.
